Unlike the Pear Pad, the Pear Phone is also a cell phone and can be used like a computer. Users can send and receive text messages, emails, visual voicemail, and web pages. All the features that are present on the Pear Laptop are available on the Pear Phone through Pear Apps. A multi-touch virtual keyboard is standard, though you can buy a Bluetooth keyboard as a separate accessory.
Pear Phone offers special keyboards for the Japanese, Chinese, Cyrillic, or Hebrew alphabets. The scratch-proof touchscreen uses LCD technology and sports 640 x 960 resolution. Our Pear Phone also comes with a mini-display port that can connect to your pear computer monitor. The Pear Phone comes standard with voice synthesis and recognition software to allow hands-off operation. The default “voice” is British female, but several other choices are available. You can also buy a Pear Phone case.
The Pear Phone offers real-time language translation between English and several other languages, including German, French, Italian and Thai, with more language promised in 2015. The built-in compass/altimeter/GPS device can be configured to automatically select language based on location. The Pear Phone has an automatic reset button that will auto fix and repairs that are needed.
Pear Phone Imaginative Specs: The Pear Phone is crammed full of functionality having borrowed many of the features of the popular Pear Pad: a camera (for still and video), a stereo media player, and WiFi connectivity.
For instance, you can set the Pear Phone to automatically speak in Italian if you are located in the “Little Italy” district of New York, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. Other cities and nationalities will follow shortly. Testing is being done on the IP phone.
Pear Phone is equipped with a built-in meteorological station that can report temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, and pollen count. The meteorological portion of the battery lasts 11 hours before needing solar-powered recharge. Standard storage is 128 GB, and the SIM card is unlocked and ejectable. A wireless docking station is available. Pear Phone comes in hot pink, blue, black, brown or green.
